When you live in Central Queensland, keeping the heat out is always going to be pretty high on the list when choosing window coverings.
That’s one of the reasons we love Luxaflex Duette Shades. They look great, but their clever design can also help make your home more comfortable and energy efficient throughout the year.
How do Duette Shades work?
The secret is in their honeycomb structure.
Each Duette Shade contains small cells that trap air, creating an extra insulating layer at your window. This can help keep your home cooler during a Rockhampton summer and warmer when those surprisingly chilly winter mornings roll around.
Over time, reducing the amount of heat entering or escaping through your windows can also help reduce the amount of work your air conditioning needs to do.
Duette Shades are also great at absorbing sound, making them worth considering for bedrooms, media rooms or homes near busy roads.
Control your light and privacy
Duette Shades are available in a range of fabric options, including sheer fabrics to soften natural light, translucent fabrics for daytime privacy and blockout fabrics when you want darkness.
One of Jess’s favourite options is Top Down Bottom Up operation. Instead of only raising the blind from the bottom, you can lower it from the top as well. This lets natural light into the room while maintaining privacy where you need it.
For more serious light control, there’s also Duette LightLock. Side channels help prevent light sneaking around the edges of the blind, making it a great option for bedrooms, nurseries, home theatres and shift workers.
Manual or motorised? Your choice.
You can keep things simple with the LightRise cordless system, allowing you to push or pull the shade by hand, or choose PowerView motorisation and control your shades using a remote or smartphone.
Duette Shades can even be made for tricky windows including arches, angles and skylights.
